Rodney S. Patterson, Critical Measures’ Vice President of Training and Development has over twenty years of experience as a diversity consultant, researcher and educator. During his career, Mr. Patterson has served a very comprehensive set of clients, including the corporate/private sector, healthcare agencies, governmental agencies, the educational arena and nonprofit agencies. His experience within each of these agencies has provided him with a breath, depth and scope beneficial to any potential client. Mr. Patterson has also been certified by and worked with several cutting edge companies offering diversity solutions including Novations, Hudson Highland and ProGroup Inc., Advanced Research Management Consultants, Stir Fry Productions (creators of the award winning video, The Color of Fear), and Management Dynamics. Well versed in utilizing a plethora of training, measurement and assessment tools, Mr. Patterson has received certification from Inscape Publishing Company and Hubbard and Hubbard Consulting. Mr. Patterson has also owned his own consulting firm and has an on-going relationship with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Through his relationship with the NCAA, he has trained and consulted at nearly 50 institutions throughout the United States. 

Much of Mr. Patterson's experience has been within academia, where he has served as the Assistant to the Vice President for Student Services and Multicultural Development Coordinator at Michigan State University. Additionally, he has worked as a Director of Multicultural/Minority Affairs at two major universities. While serving in those capacities, Mr. Patterson worked extensively with staff from every facet of campus and university life. He has been responsible for training Presidents, Provosts, Deans, Executive Vice Presidents, Development Staff, Law Enforcement Officers, Human Resources Staff, Faculty, Clerical/Technical Employees, Food Services Personnel, Medical Staff, and Student Affairs Practitioners. He has developed campus-wide diversity plans, training initiatives, and worked on multiple task forces.

Mr. Patterson also brings experience on the local government level; he served as the Assistant to the Mayor of Burlington, Vermont, the state's largest city. Mr. Patterson has served as an adjunct faculty member at several major universities offering courses regarding leadership development and diversity related topics.  Rodney presents workshops, seminars and keynote speeches at numerous conferences on an annual basis. Formerly, he was both a high school and elementary school teacher. Mr. Patterson holds a Masters of Arts in Higher Education Administration and is presently working towards completing a Ph.D.

Mr. Patterson is a contributing author in the book, Men to Men: Perspectives of Sixteen African-American Christian Men, published by Zondervan in 1996.  He has founded two churches; first African American church in the state of Vermont in 1989 and Ebenezer Baptist Church of Lansing, Michigan. Also, he currently serves as the Executive Pastor of two churches in Northern California. Rodney is married to Charlene Patterson who holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and they reside in Stockton, California.
